A visit to their Scunthorpe site by Intrax company Atlantic Pumps revealed that their existing slurry pump was not only difficult to maintain, but they were being overcharged for slurry pump parts and being quoted longer than acceptable lead times.

Atlantic Pumps recommended SlurryPro centrifugal slurry pumps which featured a different seal arrangement to the one on their current pump.

Given the limited space available at the site, the pump would be built on a bespoke sliding base. This would enable the client to undertake easier inspection and maintenance of the slurry pump and reduce repair time - thus keeping any future downtime to a minimum.

The installation of the SlurryPro centrifugal slurry pump with the new seal arrangement and the addition of the sliding base proved to be a success for Harsco.

They experienced improved pump performance, reduced maintenance costs and increased operational efficiency. The reliable and efficient operation of the pump contributed to smoother processes and uninterrupted operations.
